Wiki Link: Brenda comes from a world where Lovecraftian style creatures exist. This world was never really in as bad a shape as it could have been because no matter what happened someone always stepped in to take care of the current threat. This of course was never without cost. Every time a battle was one someone had to lose something.
While many of the Lovecraft style stories take place in the early part of the 20th century, Brenda's world is not at that point any longer. For her she will be well aware of the going-ons of a 2016 version of Earth. There will just be a slightly darker bent when it comes to current events. People are being unknowingly oppressed from dark beings from beyond the stars after all. While they would have the ability to try and shake off their influence not everyone can do that all of the time.
Powers/Abilities/Talents: Brenda is an accomplished magic user. A lot of what she has learned to do is combat focused and she tends to wield it like a blunt instrument. However, she does know a few rituals that allow her to view past events like a movie it just isn't always one that makes sense if there is magical interference. She also knows a little bit about sealing things away using magic but will profess to be a novice at it.
She also has been taught how to forge weapons and enchant them. She is actually really good at forging weapons. She can pump her magical reserves into the forging of a weapon simply to make the weapon itself better this however takes a lot of time. The stronger the enhancements will keep her busy for days followed by her needing to rest.
AU/CR AU Addendum: (Just give us a quick blurb here about what's different with your character)
STUFF: Her cane, her research journal, and Brenda's favorite moon stone pendant.
Finally, pick one word from these four options: Chimes, lake, gravel or sun.
Samples:
Brenda just had to get out of here. She had made the knives they needed to perform the sealing ritual. Professor Woods said that once the house was cleansed no one else should be able to summon that creature again. Brenda had hated being dragged into this all over again but saying no to the Professor had been difficult. When people start dying due to playing with forces they really shouldn't even look at Brenda can't sit back.
She has seen too much. Brenda lets out a breath of air she hadn't known she had been holding in and starts for the road. She had made the knives. She had shown them how to set up the ritual. She could leave, right? Just walk back to town and then hide out in a bar until it was done.
She thinks she can do that. Right up until she reaches the edge of the property. That is when a sense of duty slides right into her. Brenda Page knows she isn't a coward. She knows she has paid the price to keep the world safe for a little while longer. Why not make sure no one dies this time? With a resigned sigh she turns and winces as she feels the bones and tendons in one leg protest the way she moved.
"Shit," she can't keep the curse down. Brenda starts back to the farm house a little quicker than she should but she has a date with a creepy little monster who needs to get kicked out of this world.
"Professor," she calls. Her voice picks up as she gets closer. She is fairly certain he can hear her. The front windows of the farm house have been blown out since their last encounter with the creature. She still "I'm staying. But after this is done? I'm gone."
Woods nodded his head as he watched her come back into the house. "I know. You have that truck of yours packed up. You.... didn't have to come back."
She wants to curse him out. Of fucking course she had to come back. Whatever he thinks of her? The madness that sometimes slips into her? The choice she made to help shove that Other Thing Brenda still can't bring herself to even think the name of again even after nearly three years. Brenda clenches her jaw tightly and simply stares at him.
"Did you remember the non-iodized salt? And the candles I told you to bring," she says instead. The anger she feels towards him is being kept in check for now. She doesn't think it is really him she is angry at. She is fed up with people who try to control what she does. Yes, everyone paid a price. Brenda had thought she knew what she was doing back then. Of course now Brenda is aware that she had known nothing at the time but, with the extra hindsight even she has to admit she would change nothing.
With a tired smile Brenda picks up a plastic container and begins to carefully limp around the living room. They had to get started on this party soon after all.
